East African Manufacturing · Women's Health

Made in East Africa. For East Africa.

Daryeel. Astur. Kalsooni.

Astura is an early-stage East African manufacturing company building local production of the everyday products women and girls need. We start with affordable, locally-made sanitary pads from Dire Dawa, Ethiopia.

An East African company, building what the region needs.

Astura is an early-stage East African manufacturing company focused on making essential women's health products available, affordable, and made in the region itself.

We launch with sanitary pads produced in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia. They're designed for comfort, priced for access, and packaged in Amharic and Somali for the women who actually use them. Local manufacturing means lower prices, more jobs, and a supply chain that doesn't break when borders close.

Over time, Astura will expand into adjacent products women and families need every day: diapers, feminine care, and broader hygiene goods. All locally made, locally distributed, and locally owned.

WOMEN'S HEALTH  ·  MADE IN ETHIOPIA

To build East Africa's industrial base for women's health. One product, one factory, one community at a time.

Our Mission

Four pillars that guide every decision.

From the factory floor in Dire Dawa to the women who use our products every month, these principles shape how we design, manufacture, and deliver.

01

Local Manufacturing

Producing pads in Dire Dawa to reduce costs, shorten supply chains, and keep value inside the communities we serve.

02

Comfort & Quality

Designed for softness, absorbency, and everyday reliability. Products women can depend on without compromise.

03

Accessibility

Focused on making menstrual products more affordable for underserved communities, because access is non-negotiable.

04

Impact

Creating jobs, strengthening local production, and building a foundation for women's health manufacturing in East Africa.

A women's health assistant, in your language.

Women across East Africa deserve clear, judgment-free answers about their bodies. Ask Astura answers questions about periods, pregnancy, hygiene, and women's wellness in English, Amharic, and Somali.

Educational only. Always confidential. Always refers serious questions to a doctor, midwife, or pharmacist.

Ask Astura
Hi, I'm Astura. Ask me anything about periods, pregnancy, hygiene, or women's health. I answer in English, Amharic, or Somali. I'm here to help you understand your body, not to diagnose. For anything serious, please see a doctor or midwife.

The opportunity ahead.
